Honours was introduced in 2004. As fulltime teachers on substantive posts Prof. Basudev Paul and Arpita Dasgupta joined the department on 10-02-1986 and 24-04-2010 respectively. The paucity of full-time permanent faculty has been compensated somewhat over the years by State-Aided College Teachers (SACT).
